Asmongold stunned by his toothless lookalike in Netflix’s Devil May Cry anime
Twitch streamer Asmongold couldn’t believe it when he discovered a character that looked just like him in Netflix’s Devil May Cry anime — with some staggering similarities.
Netflix’shighly-anticipated adaptation ofCapcom’s Devil May Cry gamesreleased in April 2025 to rave reviews, receiving a95% score on Rotten Tomatoesand confirmation of a forthcomingsecond season.
The action-packed animated series has sparked a slew of reactions online as viewers chime in with their thoughts on the show… but one high-profile content creator, in particular, is raising eyebrows for his response to the adaptation.
Asmongold reacts to DMC character that looks just like him
Chronically online folks who’ve watched Netflix’s DMC anime will have likely already made the connection between a character in one of its episodes and popularTwitchstreamerAsmongold.
In the episode, the character, an apparent political pundit, pops off in a heated speech about an invasion of “terrorist demons” from what appears to be a streaming setup as other characters listen from their cars or radios at home.
Although his English voice actor uses a Southern twang, viewers instantly compared the pundit to Asmongold, who’s known forbroadcasting his political viewson Twitch. The two look quite similar, as well, both boasting a similar hairstyle, facial hair, and — as Asmon pointed out himself — missing a front tooth.
“That’s crazy,” Asmon remarked during an April 9 Twitch stream. “I will say that it’s kind of crazy that he’s wearing a white shirt, he has my same beard, and he’s missing teeth. That is very, very interesting.”
While Asmongold himself was not part of the production, it’s clear that there are definite similarities between himself and the character that viewers haven’t missed. However, other influencers have been officially involved in big-budget films and TV series as of late.
