Baldur’s Gate 3 players baffled as Cleric fails “obvious” Religion check

One such class you may find in the RPG is the Cleric. Every Cleric follows one particular God or Goddess, which means they are quite adept in religion. However, players are baffled by the fact that a Cleric ended up failing a religion check.

Baldur’s Gate 3 fans surprised by Cleric failing religion check

Thediscussion surrounding the topicwas started by a Reddit user who posted a screenshot where a Cleric ended up failing an obvious religion check. The Reddit user also made a comment claiming, “Is my Cleric stupid?” Other players joined the conversation as well and a lot of them have faced similar problems.

One such player commented, “I really wish they would give clerics of Lathander a +20 or just auto succeed. This is another case of not everything needing to be a roll.” Another player mentioned, “This should be an automatic success for any Cleric, though. Especially a Cleric of Lathander haha.”

Baldur’s Gate 3 players finally discover OP enemy after hundreds of hours

One user chimed in, “Unpopular but I think there should be a few auto succeeds on some stuff. It just makes no sense a person who’s devoted their life to a study or particular god suddenly fails to remember key bits about their god.” Finally, a user claimed, “I kinda hate that religion is an int check. Like I get it, but it seems really weird to me that a core skill to Clerics keys off a stat they don’t use.”

Therefore, it is safe to mention that all players feel that Clerics missing a religion check does not make sense. However, the game is designed this way, and it is something that players will have to accept unless the developers decide to make changes to it in the future.
