The original manga is famous for its kinetic fight choreography and highly detailed illustrations, and sure enough,Dandadan’s new trailer shows that the manga’s style is being perfectly replicated in animationthrough a combination of creative and overall great art and animation. All there is to go on right now is promotional material, butDandadanis already poised to be one of the best-lookingScience Saruproductions in years, if not the best.
The biggest testament toDandadan’s quality stems from how GKIDS, the English distributors ofDandadan, are handling the series. In a separate announcement from the reveal of the new trailer, GKIDS announced thatthe first three episodes ofDandadanwill premiere in theaters on September 13, a month before its TV air date, and the release will feature a special interview with author Yukinobu Tatsu, Tatsu’s editor Shihei Lin, and the cast and crew of the series. GKIDS is putting a lot of faith inDandadan’s success, and as of now, there’s no reason for that not to be realized.
Dandadan’s New Trailer Hints at the Anime’s Length
Another major takeaway from the newDandadantrailer is that it gives a big hint of the anime’s length. With the latest trailer revealing that Jiji will be in the anime, that means thattheDandadananime is set to cover the first seven volumes of the manga, as that would complete the Evil Eye arc Jiji is introduced in. Ideally, that will be done through a two-courseries, and if the execution lives up to what’s been shown off in the trailers, thenDandadanwill go down as an anime that perfectly followsChainsaw Man’s legacy, and then some.
