While funny,Inside Out 2’s parody ofBlueymisses the point of what makes the show dear to so many. Bloofy is an animated purple dog with buck teeth and a blue hat who is first introduced to audiences inInside Out 2. He is a fictional 2D character fromBloofy’s House, which is Riley’s favorite childhood TV show. Though Bloofy has similar characteristics as many shows aimed at the preschool demographic, the character is widely assumed to be a parody of the titular character ofBlueywith them both being dogs and having close-sounding names.
Pixar isknown for its easter eggs, andInside Out 2was full of them as well. Though there were so many present throughout the movie, Bloofy managed to stand out. This indicates that Riley is ashamed of her love for Bloofy, and it is not something that she is comfortable sharing with others. It is represented to be some sort of “guilty pleasure” for Riley and something that she views as “too childish” for the world to know about.

Inside Out 2 is the sequel to the 2015 original film, which starred a young girl named Riley with a head full of emotions. - literally. With Amy Pohler as Joy, Bill Hader as fear, Mindy Kaling as Disgust, Phyllis Smith as Sadness, and Lewis Black as Anger, the all-star cast brought to life the emotions that adolescents face as they grow, change, and adapt to new situations. This sequel, currently in development, will bring Amy Pohler back as Joy, with Riley, now a teenager.
