New Star Wars movies set to come out in this order
A new report from scooper Jeff Sneider purports to lay out the release schedule for Lucasfilm’s new Star Wars movies.
Lucasfilm announcedthree big screen additionsto the saga’s canon at Star Wars Celebration in 2023: a Rey-centric Rise of Skywalker follow-up, a Jedi Order origin story, and a New Republic crossover movie.
The trio of projects joins several other,long-gestating Star Wars productionshelmed by the likes of Taika Waititi, Shawn Levy, and Rian Johnson.
What’s more, Lucasfilm recently unveiled yet another Star Wars film, The Mandalorian & Grogu, and confirmed that this project is its top priority.

It’s worth noting Sneider couched this schedule as somewhat speculative, although he backed up his estimates with evidence from his industry sources.
For example, Sneider echoed reports that New Jedi Order is still happening – with director Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy and writer Steven Knight attached – but insisted itisdelayed. The hold-up is apparently less to do with recentbacklash against Obaid-Chinoy, and more a case of Lucasfilm prioritizing the “safe bet” of a Mandalorian spinoff.
Sneider also justified putting Dawn of the Jedi ahead of thecross-property New Republic movieby citing director Dave Filoni’s heavy workload. As Sneider rightly points out, Filoni is also developing The Mandalorian & Grogu andAhsoka Season 2. As such, James Mangold’s Star Wars movie does indeed seem likely to beat Filoni’s into theaters.

A big payday for Star Wars’ Daisy Ridley?
Aside from outlining the new Star Wars movies’ likely release order, Sneider included another interesting tidbit: Daisy Ridley’s salary. Sneider revealed that his agency-side contacts claim the English actor will pick up a $12.5 million paycheck for reprising the Rey role.
That’s a decent chunk of change – and (if accurate) reflects how keen Lucasfilm was to woo Ridley back to the franchise. For her part,Ridley maintainsthat what ultimately convinced her to return was the quality of New Jedi Order’s story, which she promised would leave fans “very excited” once it’s revealed.
