Max releases new episodes ofPretty Little Liars: Summer Schoolon Thursdays.

ThePretty Little Liars: Summer Schoolcharactersreaped the consequences of their mothers' sins in season 1, and now, in season 2,Bloody Rose is after Imogen, Tabby, Mouse, Faran, and Noa for unknown reasons(that will probably be revealed during the finale). At first, one might have thought that Rose Waters was under those blood-soaked bandages and was seeking revenge for her son, Arthur Waters, who was"A" inOriginal Sin. However, following the events ofPretty Little Liars: Summer Schoolepisode 5, everything is certainly not as black and white as initially seemed.

8Rose Waters Was Ruled Out As A Suspect

Bloody Rose Was Fighting Faran When The Real Rose Jumped Off The Bridge

As one might have inferred after finishingPretty Little Liars: Summer Schoolepisode 4, Imogen, Tabby, Mouse, Faran, and Noa were able to dismiss the idea that Rose Waters was Bloody Rose. While season 2’s villain was testing Faran’s strength (and subsequently attacked her while she was weak from holding the girder for two hours), the other four girls were confronting Rose. UnlessPretty Little Liars: Summer Schoolhas turned into a supernatural series, allowing people to be in two places at once,Archie’s mother couldn’t be Bloody Rose.

Given her importance inPretty Little Liars: Summer School’s story, Rose Waters will undoubtedly resurface in future episodes as the girls try to defeat Bloody Rose and solve the mystery behind her attacks.

Pretty Little Liars: Summer Schoolepisode 4 also ended withRose Waters jumping off a bridge, and as the Liars pointed out in episode 5, her fate is unknown. It’s possible that the older woman survived, but even more likely that she died from her fall. Given her importance inPretty Little Liars: Summer School’s story, Rose Waters will undoubtedly resurface in future episodes as the girls attempt to defeat Bloody Rose and solve the mystery behind her attacks.

7Tabby’s Boss Suggested PIFT Only Called Her Because They Needed Diversity

Wes Revealed His True Self At The Orpheum

Wes, Tabby’s boss at the Orpheum, resurfaced inPretty Little Liars: Summer Schoolepisode 5 just to show his true colors. He found a fake severed hand in the popcorn machine (left over from shooting Tabby’s short film in episode 4) andwas mad about Tabby and Christian not telling him they were filming at the movie theater.Since filmmakers typically need a signed location release form before utilizing a space for their project, Wes' annoyance was warranted, but his racism certainly wasn’t.

Wes was jealous that PIFT was interested in Tabby, not him. So, he essentially told his employee that the only reason PIFT called her was because they needed diversity, and she was a black woman. Of course,Tabby was upset and called Wes out on his macroaggressions, resulting in her boss absurdly claiming “It’s harder for a straight white guy right now — everyone knows that,” and bailing out on helping with the Orpheum’sFriday the 13thmarathon. Unfortunately, the theater’s air conditioner broke, but Tabby and Christian moved the event to Camp Millwood, where it was a success (without Wes).

Mouse is next to Bloody Rose Waters in Pretty Little Liars: Summer School.

6Noa Seemingly Chose Shawn Over Jen

Jen Asked Noa To Break Up With Shawn

Even thoughNoa slept with Jen at the beginning ofPretty Little Liars: Summer Schoolepisode 5,the guilt started eating her up, leading to her choosing Shawn over Jen (but that might change in episode 6). Shawn awkwardly knocked on Noa’s apartment door while she was cuddled up to Jen, but Noa feigned innocence and went on a run with her boyfriend, where she profusely apologized to him for being absent as of late. Later, after Shawn’s mother confronted Noa about borrowing $2,000 from her son,Jen asked Noa to break up with Shawn, but she refused.

Noa then had sex with Shawn and told him about her encounter with his mother. Infuriated, Shawn confronted her offscreen, telling Noa afterward that he wanted to move out of his parent’s house and in with her (and Jen). Even though Noa seemingly chose to be with Shawn during this episode ofthePretty Little Liarshorror spinoff,it’s clear that she still has feelings for Jen,and the hour’s final scene could change everything for Noa and her romantic future.

5Bloody Rose’s Followers Promoted “The Reckoning” On Spooky Spaghetti

They Cut Their Foreheads For Bloody Rose

Mouse has been pretty quiet since her horrifying encounter with Bloody RoseinPretty Little Liars: Summer Schoolepisode 3, and although her presence continued to be minimal in episode 5, she came across some important information pertaining to season 2’s resident villain.Bloody Rose has gained fanssincethePretty Little Liars: Summer Schoolpremiere. They (including Mouse’s grandmother, Lola) took to “Spooky Spaghetti” during the fifth hour to record videos of them slicing their foreheads in honor of the antagonist and to get ready for “The Reckoning.”

It’s unclear what “The Reckoning” is inPretty Little Liars: Summer School, but there can’t be anything good about it since it involves Bloody Rose and cult-like practices. More information about “The Reckoning” will likely arise in the upcoming episodes of the Max slasher teen drama, and Mouse will likely be the one to crack the case (given her obsession with “Spooky Spaghetti”).

4The Liars Quit Therapy With Dr. Sullivan After Finding Out She Was Recording Their Sessions

Dr. Sullivan Was Writing A Book About Trauma

After learning that Dr. Sullivan (a crossover character originally fromPretty Little Liars) was Rose Waters' doctor during her stay at the Radley Sanatorium, Tabby, Mouse, Faran, and Noa began to mistrust their therapist. Imogen, on the other hand, had formed a connection with Dr. Sullivan and was reluctant to believe that she was nefarious in any way. However, Tabby convinced Imogen to help her break into her office to find anything suspicious, which they did.The teenagers discovered transcriptions of their therapy sessions and a tape recorder,so, they, and Mouse, Faran, and Noa, later confronted Dr. Sullivan.

When Imogen and Tabby were looking for their files in Dr. Sullivan’s office, they stumbled upon the files forPretty Little Liarscharacters — Aria Montgomery, Emily Fields, Spencer Hastings, and Hanna Marin.

The Liars asked Dr. Sullivan why she was recording them without their permission (which is illegal), and the therapist explained that she was going to use the transcripts to help her write a book on “adolescent survivors of traumatic events.” Of course, that didn’t justify Dr. Sullivan’s actions, and Imogen, Tabby, Mouse, Faran, and Noa cut ties with their therapist (after threatening to sue her). Although she is no longer their therapist, the characters are still keeping Dr. Sullivan on their list of Bloody Rose suspects.

3Imogen’s Father Announced He Was Engaged

Sawyer Gave Imogen’s Mother’s Ring To His New Fiancée

Imogen’s father, Sawyer, dropped by the ice cream shop inPretty Little Liars: Summer Schoolepisode 5 to inform his daughter thathe was engaged to a woman named Rebecca.Bailee Madison’s characterwas shocked at first but agreed to have dinner with the two of them. However, Imogen brought Johnny with her for moral support, which was definitely needed once she saw her mother’s ring on her father’s new fiancée’s finger. Imogen broke down when she saw the ring, and although Sawyer tried to explain how it was his family’s, Imogen rightfully didn’t care.

Imogen demanded that Rebecca give the ring to her since it should belong to her, and she grabbed a knife and threatened to cut it off if Rebecca didn’t comply. Johnny helped settle Imogen down from her mental breakdown, and the two left her father’s house afterImogen told Sawyer she never wanted to see him again.During the drive back to Millwood, Imogen bonded withJohnny inPretty Little Liars: Summer Schoolover both of them having deadbeat fathers, and it seems as if Johnny might be Imogen’s perfect match.

Imogen’s father’s fiancée, Rebecca, could be a viable Bloody Rose suspect because she fits the appearance (when taking away the bloody bandages) and is wildly suspicious.

2Faran Broke Up With Henry After Witnessing Him Perform A Strange Ritual With The Church

Our Mother Of Holy Grace Might Be A Cult

Even though Faran was upset with Henry after learning he was sharing their relationship drama with his church, her friends encouraged her to give her boyfriend another chanceinPretty Little Liars: Summer Schoolepisode 5. Then, Henry convinced Faran to come to one of their church therapy sessions, where Kelly, Greg, and Henry all apologized to Faran. The next day at the pool, Faran expressed her surprise to Greg about his apology, and after pushing him a bit, she learned thatOur Mother of Holy Grace had an “inner circle,“which Greg wasn’t a part of, but Henry was.

Pretty Little Liars: Summer Schoolappears to be foreshadowing a possible romance between Faran and Greg.

Faran later snuck into the church to see what went down during the inner circle’s meetings, and what she saw deeply disturbed her. Henry, Kelly, Mrs. Beasley, Pastor Malachi, and others were chanting and performing a ritual, resulting in Faran running out of the church in horror. Henry followed Faran, and when she asked him to leave Our Mother of Holy Grace (which could certainly be described as a cult at this point), he chose the church over her. Consequently,Faran broke up with Henry inPretty Little Liars: Summer Schoolepisode 5.

Pretty Little Liars: Summer School Set Up A Villain Twist Similar To This 44-Year-Old Horror Franchise

Pretty Little Liars: Summer School introduced the new antagonist, Bloody Rose, setting up a possible villain twist from a beloved horror franchise.

1Bloody Rose Put Noa Through A Test (And Jen Saved Her)

The Villain Tested Noa’s Pain Threshold

It was Noa’s turn to be the subject ofBloody Rose’s torment inPretty Little Liars: Summer Schoolepisode 5. The villain left Noa a note at her door that read, “You’ve been walking the forbidden path. Go there alone or one of your beloveds die.” As a result,Noa lashed out at Jen (and told her she loved Shawn, not her),intentionally forcing her to leave and get away from Bloody Rose.

Bloody Rose laid out a long trail of thorny roses, and to entice Noa to go across them, the villain let loose a wild dog that chased her.

Later that night, Noa arrived in the woods where another note was waiting for her. It read, “A final girl must have a high threshold for pain. Take off your shoes and start walking.” Bloody Rose laid out a long trail of thorny roses, and to entice Noa to go across them, the villain let loose a wild dog that chased her. While running away, Noa came across a road, wherea car pulled up next to her, revealing Jen as the driver.Noa got into the car just as the dog caught up to her, and the two teenagers sped away as Bloody Rose looked on.

Even though Jen was the one to save Noa, the fact that she arrived at the perfect time to rescue her is quite suspicious. Viewers will have to wait until the next episode to learn how Jen knew where Noa was, for right now, though, Jen is looking very shady. Of course,Jen can’t be Bloody Rose (unless there are multiple),but that doesn’t mean she’s not evil inPretty Little Liars: Summer School.
