Warning: Some SPOILERS lie ahead for Shoresy season 3!
Summary
Following an epic rise to success in season 2,Shoresyseason 3 will present new challenges for Tasya Teles' Nat and the rest of the Sudbury Bulldogs. The spinoff of thehit Canadian comedy showLetterkennyhas followed the titular character as he moved from the small Ontario town to the Northern Ontario metropolis, joining up with the Bulldogs as they’re in the midst of a 20-game losing streak. With the foul-mouthed vet as team captain, a new general manager, coach and players, Shoresy is able to turn the team around and carry them to a near-perfect season, as season 2 ends right before the last game of the regular season.
Shoresyseason 3, however, opens with the Bulldogs losing this final game, leaving them disappointed as they head into playoffs and gear up to host the Northern Ontario Senior Hockey Organization (NOSHO) championship at their home stadium. The season will see Jared Keeso’s titular character working to not only get his teammates back in the right headspace to bring home the championship trophy, but also sees GM Nat and her partners, Ziig and Miig, trying to wrangle them in from their wilder antics distracting them from the game.

Teles' “Heart Sank A Bit” With TheShoresySeason 3 Premiere
Despite being seemingly unbeatable after season 2, theShoresyseason 3 premiere opens with the Bulldogs losing the final game of the season, a small setback, but one that puts the team into an emotional spiral as they reckon with how to bounce back heading into playoffs. For Teles, when she read the script for the premiere, she recalls her “heart sank a little bit”, while Rose recalls Keeso teasing that the season is “gonna get weird”:
Tasya Teles: Oh, my gosh, my heart sank a little bit for the team. But, like with anything, there’s obstacles that come, and you have to get around them, and that’s what creates that fun conflict for television that we love. But I am so proud of season 3, I love where Jared took the show this year. I feel like we finally kind of got to step into his mind and see the full picture of what he was envisioning, for sure. I’m really, really thrilled for the season.
Keilani Elizabeth Rose: Well, without giving too much away, I guess I would say it brings me back to a chat I was having with Jared before we started the season, and I just remember him saying “Be ready. It’s gonna get weird.” And I was like, “Okay!” [Laughs] And I think that speaks really true to how we get down this season, and I think that it’s just so enjoyable. So, I’m really excited to see how people feel about that.
With the team at their most chaotic yet as they process the big loss, Nat, Ziig and Miig will find the team even more difficult to wrangle in and focus on preparing for playoffs. This, in turn, led to a lot of ad-libbing for Teles and Rose, including the latter making a suggestion to Keeso for changing one part of the script, which left her feeling so overjoyed by his openness to do so she went back to her trailer and “had a little cry”:
Tasya Teles: It’s not easy, man. That’s where a lot of the comedy lives, is that you have Nat and the girls, who are very strong in their own right, are trying to wrangle these cast of clowns, in a way. These hockey players that just can’t seem to get anything straight or right, and there’s a lot of buffoonery. So, trying to wrangle them is always a bit challenging.
But, this year, I remember when we were filming one of the commercials that the boys do, we were standing there, watching the boys laughing together and joking around, and it was a lot of ad-libbing in that moment. It was really easy, I think, for me and the girls to just stand there and be like, “What is going on?” It’s really easy to play off of that energy. Nat is developing herself as a young GM, and I think this season, she really grows, you see towards the end.
Keilani Elizabeth Rose: Big boss energy. You know what, it’s actually pretty amazing how technically sound everyone is keeping to the script to a tee, for the most part. I have one outstanding moment that I can think of from this season. I think it’s in episode one, so when y’all watch it, I remember reading through the script where we’re introducing all the teams for the National Senior tournament and being like, “Okay, there’s this perfect opportunity for us to include some traditional territory names, and some treaty names, and really just give some acknowledgement to those traditional lands.”
It was really so fulfilling to be able to bring that to Jared and say, “Hey, what do you think about this idea? Can we throw this in there?” And he was really open to receiving that, and then really just having that representation. I went back to my trailer after, I had a little cry. I was like, “This is so rad. This is why we do what we do.” So that was one moment where we kind of got to stray from the original writing, but it was just this really welcome addition to what we were working on.
Teles Wants Nat To Go To Letterkenny, While Rose Wants 1LetterkennyFace To Return
With it sharing ties tothe belovedLetterkenny, some fans of the original show are curious to see if any familiar faces return for future seasons ofShoresy. For Teles, she is more intrigued about the idea of Nat venturing to the small town of the original show, while Rose is hopeful to see a certain fellow Native actor return:
Tasya Teles: Oh, that’s a really good question. I feel like it’d be really interesting to see Nat in Letterkenny in general, and just see how she moves in that space. When we first started filming Shoresy, I started building a character that was a little bit more grassroots, a little bit more living in the Letterkenny world. When I spoke to Ginger Martini, our head of costumes, she was like, “Oh, no, Nat’s a big city girl compared to the Letterkenny crowd, she’s a big city. This is Sudbury, my friend.” And I was like, “Oh, okay. It’s totally different aesthetics.” So, I think it’d be interesting if the hockey team went to Letterkenny to play a game, and just to see how she would play in that space, in general, would be really funny.
Keilani Elizabeth Rose: I feel like for me, it would be Tiio [Horn, who plays Tanis]. Tiio for sure. Just because she blows my mind with her comedy, and I feel like it would be so fun.
Tasya Teles: I was gonna say Tiio too. [Chuckles]
