Summary
There are tons of heroes in theJustice Leaguewho inspire people every day to be more heroic, but sometimes they aren’t able to inspire their own family. While family relationships can be difficult, these relationships take that to the next level, as these Justice League members have siblings who choose crime over heroism.
Growing up in the same family doesn’t always impart the same morals. There are tons of characters who choose to be heroes because of their upbringing, and there are plenty who choose to be villains because of theirs. This sometimes leads to the odd situation where one sibling is a worldwide hero in the Justice League, and the other sibling is a villain who only cares about themselves. These are 15 Justice League heroes who have villainous siblings.

15Orion And His Brother Kalibak
New Gods#1 by Jack Kirby and Vince Colletta.
Two brothers that stand for almostcompletely opposite things are Orion and Kalibak. While both are the sons of Darkseid, Orion was sent to live on New Genesis and was actually shown love and kindness.Kalibak stayed on Apokolips, raised by Darkseid, and became a brutal warrior who only cared about furthering his father’s insidious plans. Whenever Darkseid tries to attack Earth or any other planet, it’s almost always Kalibak who is leading his father’s army. His incredible strength makes him a dangerous foe, as he can even match Superman in battle. Overall, Kalibak is a bleak look at what Orion would’ve been if he had stayed with Darkseid.

Martian Manhunter#0 by John Ostrander, Tom Mandrake, Carla Feeny, Heroic Age, and Bill Oakley

Ma’alefa’ak is obsessed with bringing about the end of the Martian race, which has led him to try and hunt down and kill Martian Manhunter several times. Despitehow powerful Martian Manhunteris, he’s yet to be able to stop his evil brother. One of the most tragic aspects of Martian Manhunters story is that he’s one of the very last of his race, and this is only made worse by the fact the one survivor os his race is his villainous brother Ma’alefa’ak.

13Grail Was Orion’s Evil Sister
Grail is the daughter of Darkseid, and is every bit as evil as one might expect her to be. While she’s hardly interacted with her brother Orion at all, she’s yet another example of someone in Orion’s life being corrupted by Darkseid. While Grail wasn’t corrupted by Darkseiddirectly, she still seeks out the Anti-Life Equation just as her father does, and she wants it for much the same reason. For as heroic as Orion became, he has two siblings to show just how villainous he could’ve been in another life. Recently, Grail has been used as a villain for Wonder Woman, considering they’re both of Amazon descent.
12James Gordon, Jr. Is Barbara Gordon’s Personal Villain
Batman#407 by Frank Miller, Dave Mazzucchelli, Richmond Lewis, and Todd Klein.
Barbara Gordon has dealt with plenty of villains in her time as Batgirl and Oracle, but the worstserial killer she’s ever fought is James Gordon Jr, her very own brother.James is a vicious serial killer with no real feelings at all. He enjoys killing people and has often made Barbara the center of several of his twisted crimes. Barbara spent most of her childhood with James and having to fight him is often the hardest thing she’s ever had to do, which makes him a deeply personal and tragic villain for her. Justice League#23 by Geoff Johns, Ivan Reis, Joe Prado, Oclair Albert, Eber Ferreira, Rod Reis, and Nick J. Napolitano
Cyborg is an only child, but he has something that’s just as close as a brother. After suffering a major accident, Victor Stone had to have much of his body replaced with machinery in order to live. This turnedVictor into the superheroCyborg, and he became a living computer, but eventually, this computer half would gain its own personality. This being would be known as Grid and manages to separate from Victor, now its own entity, Victor has to battle the very machinery that saved his life and has been a part of him since his accident. 9Golden Glider Rejected Her Brother’s Attempt At Redemption
The Flash#250 by Cary Bates, Irv Novick, Vince Colletta, and Jerry Serpe
One of theFlash’s most iconic villains will always be Captain Cold, but Captain Cold did try his hand at heroism once. Despite primarily being known as a villain, Captain Cold eventually made his way onto the Justice League where he tried to do good for once. This didn’t last, and that might partly be because of the fact his sister, Golden Glider, never gave up her criminal ways. The entire time Leonard Snart was trying to be a hero, his sister was still out there robbing banks. While Snart tried his hand at being a hero, the fact his sister never stopped being a criminal is likely why he relapsed into being one himself.
