The Clone Warsreimagined Barriss Offee as a Padawan of roughly the same age as Ahsoka Tano, and even more significantly, a terrorist and traitor to the Jedi.Tales of the Empireshowed Offee’s brief time as anImperial Inquisitorbefore she reclaimed her identity as a Jedi. The show’s final episode reveals that Offee also became a healer, possibly as a nod to her original iteration.Offee may have chosen to become a literal healer after metaphorically healing herself from the dark side’s corruption, but there could also be a far sadder reason for her chosen specialty.

The Mirialan apprentice of Luminara Unduli, Barriss Offee became disillusioned with the Jedi Order during the Clone Wars. She ultimately betrayed the Jedi, even launching a terrorist attack on the Jedi Temple itself, and framed Ahsoka for the crime. Exposed, Barriss was imprisoned - but she was recovered by the Empire shortly after Revenge of the Sith, joining the ranks of the Imperial Inquisitors.

The crushing guilt of this self-awareness might have led Barriss Offee to become a healing specialist by the end ofStar Wars: Tales of the Empirebecause she viewed her slow sacrifice as a way to compensate for the suffering she inflicted in the past.
