Summary

A new trailer forTales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtleshas dropped. The animated series is a spinoff from 2023’sTMNT: Mutant Mayhemthat features Micah Abbey, Shamon Brown Jr., Nicolas Cantu, and Brady Noon reprising their voice roles as Donatello, Michelangelo, Leonardo, and Raphael respectively. Bishop Glaring in Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

The trailer kicks off by reintroducing the turtles as well as their various strengths and weaknesses, seemingly highlighting how the show can be approached on its own without prior knowledge of the events ofMutant Mayhem. It then separates the turtles for the first time, forcing them to fight on their own whiletrying to defeat the mutant-hunting villain Bishop.

The Villain May Be Familiar To Longtime Viewers

The trailer doesn’t reveal too much about the incoming villain, Bishop, who is behind the separation of the core quartet. Beyond a joke from April O’Neil (Ayo Edebiri) about the character only having one name and the fact that the character seems to operate a mech suit, many character details are still being kept under wraps, including the identity of the actor voicing Bishop. However, in spite of this veil of mystery,the character has a firm grounding in the overall loreof theTeenage Mutant Ninja Turtlesfranchise.

Agent John Bishop is a villainous character who originally debuted in the2003 animated showTeenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The character, who was voiced by David Zen Mansley, wasthe head of the Earth Protection Forceand made his debut in season 3, episode 3, “Space Invaders, Part II,” before going on to appear in more than 20 additional episodes. Another version of Bishop, voiced by Nolan North, appeared in the 2012 animated series of the same name.

Nolan North is a voice actor who is best known for voicing Nathan Drake in theUnchartedvideo game franchise.

Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtlesdepicts Bishop as a woman of color, but beyond that change, the character seems to have retained the same position in the narrative. It is currently unknown if the current version of the character is affiliated with the Earth Protection Force. Regardless of her affiliation, she still presents a powerful threat to the turtles and may prove to be a primary antagonist of the new show just like previous iterations of the character.
