Today’s Connections Category Hints
JUNE 21 #375
For those looking for a nudge in the right direction, we haveall the categories for today already listed in the table below.Otherwise, scroll on to find the full spoiler answers.
ROLLER COASTER
TILT-A-WHIRL
This was a very fun and enjoyable category. As soon as we saw MERRY-GO-ROUND we knew what category this likely referred to. Seeing ROLLER COASTER and FERRIS WHEEL confirmed this bias, and it was not that long before we spotted TILT-A-WHIRL. As summer begins in full swing, amusement parks are too andConnectionshas caught on.
GREEN LIGHT
THUMBS-UP
This one we felt fairly good about. CLEARANCE and GREEN LIGHT both felt natural together, and THUMBS-UP was also close synonym that felt like it belonged. GO-AHEAD was the last one we added, mostly because it felt a little odd in this group. However, once we realized it we knew it had to be this word as opposed to any others.
8 Vertex Strategies To Quickly Solve The Picture
The New York Times Vertex game asks you to form a picture by connecting dots, but you have to understand the image to solve this puzzle quickly.
RAGS-TO-RICHES
UNDERDOG
The amount of hyphens in today’sConnectionswas a bit surprising, and we got one wrong guess when we just put all the hyphens together. However, once we looked at RAGS-TO-RICHES and CINDERELLA, things began clicking. UNDERDOG and DAVID-AND-GOLIATH both fit very naturally into this category, especially with the other words left.
RUMPELSTILTSKIN
TAILGATE
These were the only words left for us and it’s a bit of an odd mix. RUMPELSTILTSKIN certainly belongs in the same genre category as CINDERELLA, as both are fairy tales, and the others felt disconnected. Finding out the actual category had us looking a little skeptically at the NYT as it seem like an odd choice, but it does work to a point anyway.
