The Grau 5.56, an extremely popular weapon in the original Warzone, will also return. However, it’s only a new Firing Mod Conversion Kit for the Swat 5.56.

Despite it only being a Firing Mod, Raven Software game director Pete Acitipisreassured fans, “Don’t get it twisted. Just because it’s a Conversion and not a gun doesn’t mean it’s any lesser of a gun. The Grau is back.”

Zombies gameplay from new Shattered Veil map

Players should expect it to be just as highly accurate as they remembered in 2020 with the iconic iron sights as well.

Verdansk map changes

Considering diving back into Warzone this season? Here’s some helpful guides to help you bounce back strong as Verdansk promises to shake things up once again:

Helpful Warzone guides

Console Cross-Play

In Season 03, we’re giving console players more granular options by separating the MP Ranked Play and Call of Duty: Warzone Ranked Play settings and adding a new Multiplayer-only setting for Quickplay, Featured, and Party Games matches.

Each of these three settings (Multiplayer Ranked Play, Call of Duty: Warzone Ranked Play, and Multiplayer Unranked) will include the following options:

Additional details on how these settings interact with party members who are on different platforms.

Movement adjustments

Player count increase and shooting in air

Like the original iteration, Warzone Season 3 increases the player count from 120 to 150. In addition, the original in-game announcer returns.

And while players are diving from the starting plane, you can switch between free falling or using a parachute. While free falling, you can shoot a 9mm PM pistol at enemies in the air, as you could in 2020.

Quality-of-life changes

With Verdansk comes major quality-of-life updates that basically undo Warzone 2’s changes.

Looting adjustments

Your life matters. In returning back to the classic feeling of Verdansk, we are going back to a simpler set of Second Chance Mechanics that are faithful to the original Battle Royale experience.

After months of playtesting we noted that regain in the mid-to-late game was almost impossible, so the design intent of this is to better allow players to redeploy with a little more cash to give them a slight leg-up when it comes to getting back into the flow of the game.

Circle collapse pacing

The Warzone devs confirmed, “The collapsing circle of acrid gas that suffocates stragglers and forces Operators to rotate into ever-shrinking arenas performs similarly, and relentlessly, just like in the original map. Expect Loadout Drops during the second and fifth of the six circle collapses, and a wide variety of final locations to claim victory at, though dead zones.”

Equipment, Field Upgrades, and Killstreak Retro Refresh

Perk adjustments

Contracts revert back to their original version in Season 3.

Contract Multipliers are back, meaning completing more than one Contract rewards additional bonus money and every Contract across Verdansk receives an additive bonus 30 percent to its cash payout. The bonus is capped after you finish the fifth contract.

In-match public events

Original Gulag

The iconic Prison Showers gulag location is back for Season 3 along with all three Gulag variants. The only way to win is either to claim the flag in the middle or eliminate the enemy in a one on one battle.

Verdansk features five vehicles. In addition Raven Software confirmed, “All vehicles are available in the same set of locations to those that appeared in the original map. Additionally, there are no tire punctures or fuel-refilling to worry about; each vehicle has a health meter and when it reaches zero, it explodes and flames out, just as it did originally.”

Here are all five vehicles.
