Wind River, released in 2017, is widely regarded as one of Sheridan’sbest movies, which he directed and wrote. It stars Jeremy Renner and Elizabeth Olsen, as well as Kelsey Asbille, who plays Monica Dutton in Yellowstone.
It’s not an easy watch, inspired by the horrific number of real-life Indigenous women who go missing or are killed across the United States and Canada.
Renner stars as U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Agent Cory Lambert, who discovers the body of a young woman in the wilderness. An investigation ensues, and as he teams up with FBI Special Agent Jane Banner, they begin to learn the horrible truth behind Natalie’s murder.
Wind River is well worth checking out if you’re going through the Taylor Sheridan collection. With 87% on Rotten Tomatoes and an award from the Cannes Film Festival, it’s one of his best.
